Rodney Vergotine, B.Ch.D., M.Sc.

Clinical Faculty / Pediatric Dentistry Specialist

Dr. Rodney Vergotine, born in Cape Town, South Africa, completed his dental degree there in 1986. He came to the United States to complete his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from his specialty training program in 1993. Then he was awarded a fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From 2002-2006 he worked at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin before returning to Chicago. He was Associate Professor and Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Dental Residency program at UIC from 2006-2014. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Dentistry in the College for Dental Medicine-Illinois at Midwestern University.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Past-President of the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists. Dr. Vergotine also works in private practice at Chicago Smile Specialists in Logan Square. He has been associated with this practice from 2006-present.

Dr. Vergotine lives in Oak Park with his wife Leah and sons Jared and Zak. His free time is spent with his family, especially doing sporting activities with his boys. Traveling is a passion of the entire family. Getting out and playing tennis with his friends is a passion he has had since a young child in South Africa.
