Marlon Smith, D.D.S.

Clinical Assistant Professor; Clinical Care Coordinator

Dr. Smith received his dental training and DDS degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, graduating in 1986.  He completed a 1-year General Practice Residency at Oklahoma Children’s Memorial Hospital in 1987.  The next two years (1988-1989) he was a contract dentist in the US Army at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.  Dr. Smith went into private practice in the Sacramento area from 1989-2015.  He joined the MWU team as an assistant clinical professor in May of 2015 and became a Clinical Care Coordinator in November of 2016.  He is a member of the tripartite ADA organization.  He was presented a Dean’s Award in 2016 for his oversight of the orthodontic pre-clinical curriculum and clinical orthodontics in 2015-2016. He composes on the classical guitar and enjoys nature photography.
