Gilda Ferguson, D.D.S., Ph.D.

Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Gilda Ferguson grew up in Texas as a military dependant.  A move to Florida enabled her to attend Florida State University in Tallahassee where she received a Bachelor of Science degree.  Marriage brought a move to Virginia, where she taught math for several years.  Deciding to further her career and education, she enrolled at the Medical College of Virginia where she received her 1983 and her D.D.S. in 1986.  Dr. Ferguson practiced as a solo practitioner until 2008, when she sold the practice.  In 2009, she joined the faculty at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, VA., where she established a private practice simulation clinic for senior rotations. Dr. Ferguson joined the Midwestern faculty in 2012.  She is a member of the Admissions Committee and is in charge of the OSCE for third year students.  Dr. Ferguson is a member of the ADA, AZDA, AWD and ADEA and has been a reviewer for ADEA submissions. Dr. Ferguson is active in different dental organizations and local study clubs.
