Fred Collison, O.D., FAAO
Adjunct Clinical Instructor
Dr. Fred Collison studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. He then attended the Illinois College of Optometry, earning a Doctor of Optometry degree, and completed a residency in Primary Care Optometry at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. He completed Research Fellowship training in Hereditary Retinal Diseases within the Chicago Lighthouse. His areas of both clinical and research expertise include inherited retinal diseases, such as retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt disease, and the testing procedures relevant to those conditions, such as electroretinography (ERG). He is presently employed as the Clinical and Research Associate in the Pangere Center, along with working part-time as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the Chicago College of Optometry.
