David Rolf, II, D.D.S., M.S.


Dr. Rolf is a Periodontist and Clinical Ethicist and a graduate of Indiana University (BA, 1987) Washington University School of Dental Medicine (DMD, 1987) The University of Iowa (Certificate in Periodontics, 1992; MS in Oral Science, 2000) and Rush University Medical Center (Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Ethics, 2003). He practiced for 12 years and has served on the dental faculty of Loma Linda University and Indiana University. As a founding faculty member of CDMA, he has developed team-taught courses and actively teaches in Ethics & Professionalism, Periodontology, Implant Dentistry, Interprofessional Education, Pharmacy and guest lectures at The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. His research focuses on dental implant biomaterials and he actively mentors dental student research. He is a frequent CE speaker on dental ethics and has numerous peer-reviewed article, chapter and abstract publications. A Fellow of the American College of Dentists and a Fellow of the American Dental Education Association Leadership Institute, Dr. Rolf serves as a consultant to the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and has served on the editorial board of the American Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. He received a 2010 and 2015 Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, was selected by the ADA as an Evidence-Based Dentistry Champion and is a member of the American College of Dentists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Education Association, International Association for Dental Research, American Society for Dental Ethics and American Society for Bioethics and Humanities.
