David Dodell, D.M.D.

Director of Clinical Systems

Dr. Dodell received his D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1982.  After serving as the staff dentist for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix for three years, he started his solo private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, which he left in 2011 to be at Midwestern full-time.  Dr. Dodell has served in various levels of organized dentistry, including local, state and national level appointments in the American Dental Association.   Dr. Dodell has also served as a consultant to the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners, both as an investigative interviewer and clinical evaluator.  His passion is computer technology and how it can improve patient care, and he has lectured on implementing computer technologies in the dental office, including  several American Dental Association Annual Sessions.  He also is a reviewer for the Journal of the American Dental Association for technology-related articles.  After four years as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the Arizona School of Dentistry, Dr. Dodell came to Midwestern to combine his passion for mentoring students with his passion for technology by coordinating the school’s implementation of an electronic dental records system.
