Benjamin Johnson, D.D.S.

Clinical Assistant Professor - Oral Surgery

Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas. Upon graduation, he received the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons award for distinguished achievement, General Dentistry Program Award in Recognition of excellence, Academy of Dental Materials award, and the Quintessence Award in recognition of academic achievement. He is a graduate of the OMS Surgery Residency at San Antonio Military Medical Center. Dr. Johnson was stationed at Barksdale AFB from 2014-2018 where he practiced his specialty and was faculty for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. He received the Educator of the year award in 2016 for the Air Force Global Strike Command bases, and in 2018 he received the meritorious service medal for outstanding service to the United States as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2d Medical Group, Barksdale AFB. He also works part time at the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix – Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency. Dr. Johnson maintains active certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS. His clinical interests include: Routine Oral Surgical Services, Anesthesia, Corrective Jaw Surgery, and Bone Grafting. Dr. Johnson is Board Certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He has been published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on facial burn injuries sustained during deployment. Dr. Johnson is a member of the AAOMS, Fellow, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Diplomate, National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, Diplomate, American Dental Society of Dental Anesthesiology, American College of Surgeons, and Arizona Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Johnson values his time with this family. He also enjoys competing in sprint triathlons, running, golfing, and the outdoors.
