Anita Chu-Fountain, D.D.S.
Clinical Assistant Professor
A native of Hong Kong, she immigrated to United States when she was 16. After finishing two years of undergraduate studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was accepted into the School of Dentistry class of 1976. It was the inaugural year of having more than one female student in the class; she was one of the six in a class of 137. After graduation, she moved to Phoenix with her husband, a periodontist, and was the only practicing female dentist in town for a year. She has had 20 years of private practice in Phoenix and Sun City as well as 8 years in corporate dentistry where she learned how to manage large dental group practices from a different business perspective. She joined Midwestern in 2011 as an adjunct instructor at the pre-clinical simulation clinic. Four years later her passion in teaching and love for technologies brought her to the Dental Institute full time as a clinical assistant professor. She is a member of the Spear Education Faculty Club, American Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Arizona State Dental Association and Central Arizona Dental Society. She has served on the peer review committee for the AZ State Dental Association and as a delegate to the AZ chapter of American Dental Association.
