We take pride in providing friendly, sincere, expert advice to find you the best pair of glasses. Midwestern University’s Optical is the one-stop option for all of your eyewear needs!

Low Vision Rehabilitation Services

Vision Rehabilitation helps to maximize the remaining vision of people who have permanent impairments and improve functional vision for reading, watching television, driving, and other daily tasks.

The Eye Institute offers the latest visual aid devices and technologies, and collaborates with occupational therapists to assist patients in leading more independent lives.

Pediatric Services

Our pediatric team believes that good vision is more than just 20/20.  Emphasis is also placed on identifying and treating any eye problems that may interfere with a patient’s potential in learning or overall development.  A child’s first routine eye examination is recommended as early as 6 months of age and should be checked regularly thereafter.

Our pediatric department handles a multitude of routine and specialty pediatric services, including infant exams, strabismus and other binocular vision treatments, pediatric eye allergies and infection treatments, and special needs examinations.

Contact Lenses

Our Contact Lens Center has dedicated doctors who specialize in successfully fitting contact lenses of all types and complexities. Whether you can be fit with standard design contact lenses or require custom specialty designs for challenging vision issues, we have the eye care professionals who can help.

Ocular Prosthetics

Our ocular prosthetics service can help people with missing, injured, deformed, or disfigured eyes, either seeing or non-seeing. Our nationally recognized faculty are doctors who are specifically trained in the fitting, creation, and maintenance of all types of ocular prosthetic devices.

Electrodiagnostic Services

Our electrodiagnostic services can help provide answers when a diagnosis is elusive and provide more insight into unexplained vision loss, hereditary eye disorders, and early medication toxicity.

Midwestern offers a comprehensive collection of electrodiagnostic services, including multifocal electroretinogram.

Sports Vision Services

Sports vision training starts with an evaluation of visual skills such as depth perception, eye-hand coordination, peripheral vision awareness, visual reaction time, and eye teamwork in order to detect problems that may be hindering athletic performance.

Often, visual skills can be improved with a carefully designed and individualized sports vision therapy program. Whether your sport is football, baseball, golf, tennis, or even auto racing, you might benefit from a visual skills program catered specifically to your needs.

Vision Therapy

Vision therapy is a highly effective non-surgical treatment for many common vision problems, such as lazy or crossed eyes, double vision, visual discomfort or fatigue, and poor tracking skills that may affect one’s ability to read effectively. Vision therapy can also be effective to improve visual skills in sports, such as depth perception, eye-hand coordination, peripheral vision awareness, and visual reaction time.

Vision Center & Optical Services

The Midwestern University Eye Institute Vision Center is able to provide for all your eye care needs. We offer frames for the entire family, including sunglasses and sunglass frames that can be used for your prescription.

Our extensive frame selection accommodates any budget, taste, or need, while our experienced opticians will assist you in your selection and maintaining the comfort of your new eyewear.
