During these sunny summer months, it’s especially important to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. While you may remember to protect yourself during long periods in the sun, don’t forget that small amounts of exposure during the day can put you at risk for skin cancer as well as premature skin aging. While being in the shade is the best way to stay safe, The American Cancer Society recommends you “Slip! Slop! Slap!® and Wrap” when you are out in the sun.
